Biography

Kabutey is pronounced “Ka-bu-teh.” The name originates from Ghana, West Africa and translates to English as ‘first born son.’ Genres Kabutey produces and spins live include Deep House, Electro House, Big Room, Progressive House, Trance, Hardstyle, Dubstep, Hip-Hop, and R&B. Since the age of eight, music is a passion. Production skills came in his high school years and evolved with a commitment to dance music. Established as an electronic dance music DJ in 2012, his innovative sound continues to reach fans' hearts. In 2014, Beats Radio Calgary gave airplay to his single 'Aurora.' He was featured in Core Magazine and Beatsy Blog. In 2015, 2016, and 2017 on Mixcloud, his mixes consecutively made the Top 100 charts in their genres. His Guest Mix aired on Robit Radio. Kabutey was featured in Skilly Magazine, BWD Magazine, and Secrets of The Sun. He also held a residency on Invisible Sound Radio from 2016 to 2017. In 2017, Kabutey is listed as one of The Deli Magazine's EDM Hot In Region. His House single 'Say Yes (Extended Mix),' was featured on The SongLadder Rising 50 - songs on the move. Kabutey was also featured in Smash Up Magazine. The Candy Network added his Hip-Hop single 'Party In Macau' to their 'Unwrapped Candy' playlist on Spotify. In 2018, Kabutey enjoyed a release with record label TokaBeatz. He was featured in Electro Wow, We Rave You, T.H.E - Music Essentials, and I Heart ROC. Pulsive Media GmbH added his House single, ‘If It Happens Again’ featuring Elisa King, to their ‘Celebrate The Summer’ playlist on Spotify. The single peaked at No.86 on the Swiss Dance Chart Top 100. In 2019, Kabutey released his single ‘Maestro (Original Mix)’ with Trebaltek Records. His very first sample pack ‘Producer Essentials by Kabutey’ rolled into stores. Kabutey was featured in Solis Magazine and Hammarica. His Guest Mix aired on KISS FM Australia. He also held a brief residency on Radio Marbella. On Mixcloud, his mixes continue to consecutively make the Top 100 charts in their genres.
