Biography

Gigwise, one of England’s leading music publications, describes Annie Taylor as a “mellow, cool guitar romp through desert rock, shoegaze, indie and pop influences. Lush.” And it’s easy to see why. The band’s four members – Gini Jungi, Tobias Arn, Michael Mutter, and Daniel Bachmann – jumped at the chance to work with Taxi Gauche Records and embark on an exhilarating adventure. Since their 2020 debut album, ‘Sweet Mortality’ – a record that blends pop, psychedelia, and grunge into a beautiful mid-point – Annie Taylor has gone from playing at poorly-equipped venues to supporting the likes of Wolf Alice or Skunk Anansie on their 2022 tour. The band’s success has led to numerous festival invitations, including MTV Music Week, Reeperbahn, Zurich Openair, Waves Vienna and Montreux Jazz Festival, before touring the UK, Germany, and Switzerland. Annie Taylor has earned praise from music publications such as The 405, Gigwise, Indie Shuffle, and L.A. Weekly, with comparisons drawn to early Hole, Wolf Alice and Warpaint. Hailing from Zurich, Switzerland, Annie Taylor offers a carefree blend of grunge and fresh rock, spreading a buoyant, uplifting atmosphere with their undeniably energetic live shows. Annie Taylor recently recorded their highly anticipated second album, ‘Inner Smile’ with uber-producer Ali Chant (known for his work with Yard Act, Katy J. Pearson, Aldous Harding, Sorry) in Bristol. The sophomore album will be released on Friday July 7th, 2023.
